Where to sleep :
For adventurous and those that wish to better know the Buddhist culture, you could go to all the Buddhist temples. They always are very happy to see some cyclists. Occasionally, you will be able to have your own room, but often they will offer you of sleep on the floor in open area. Every cities and village got there on temples. But!!!! Keep in mind it may be safer to sleep in small village than in big cities. It’s also good if the whole village don’t know than you are there. In the morning, they may offer you breakfast. In the Buddhist religion, you are not supposed to eat at the same time then the monk. Be aware of their impossibility to get any physical contact whit a woman. If you must give him something, deposit it some where and he will collect it. Otherwise, if you prefer more comfort, it is possible to find some hotels in all cities. In small villages, you will get more difficulties, so you could ask for the hospitality of people. People are extremely nice and very devoted. A “Guest house ", should be around 4-9US$.

Qualities of the road :
The roads in Thailand are excellent. You will be able to cycling easily with road tire. There is no problem for cycling on the road, because all roads got good shoulder for motorbikes. But… be really careful if you have to cycling into Bangkok. It is extremely dangerous. There is a lot of circulation and all is chaotic. There is also lot pollution. It is worth it to wear a helmet when you ride into the city.

Food :
It is very easy to obtain food and water on the road. You will find some kiosks every 10 or 15 km. You should count about 0.50 - 0.75 US$ per meal (20-25 Bath). A bottle of water costs 5 Bath.

Level of dificulties :
According to us, the level of difficulty depends on the region. The path that joins Malaysia, Bangkok and Cambodia it’s very flat and easy. On the other hand, the north of Thailand it’s hilly.

The must :
The region of Krabi can be interesting to do by bicycle because you will cycle through very nice rock formation (limestone’s). It must be also good to visit the north region of the country. It is more hilly and challenging. The northern areas are the home of some hill tribes. Probably, the best part of Thailand is all the people that you gone met.

Bicycle shop:
Contrary to our belief, it is not always easy to find a bicycle shop. They got a lot of shop, but they only sell basic bicycle and the one for kids. It is not really easy to find shop who offer specialize gear. We find only one shop in Chumpon or maybe in some in Surat-Thani (to verify). You probably found one in Phuket and Chiang Mai. Otherwise, it is necessary to go indeed to Bangkok. There is an excellent shop of close of the embassy of Cambodia (expensive) and some normal bikes shops in the district of Lan Luang.
