Krabi
If you ever traveled in South-East Asia and that you are in search of a climbing spot, Krabi is the place to go. The climbing is not exactly in Krabi, but it is in Railey Beach and Ton Sai Beach. The climbing is mostly physical due to the big number of overhang. What is brilliant of this place it is the position of the cliff because they are often strait on the beach. You can also climb at Ko PhiPhi Don.
How to get there
1 - From Krabi: Take a longtail boat (100bath) until Railey-Est.
2 - From Ao Nam Mao: You have to leave from Krabi with a songkla(bus)(50bath) until Ao Nam Mao and then take a longtail boat until Railey-Est.
3 – From Ao Nang: You also have to take a songkla(50bath) from Krabi in direction of Ao Nang, and then take a longtail boat for Ton Sai Beach
P.s: If you want to get to Ton Sai Beach, it is preferable to leave from Ao Nang, otherwise it will be necessary for you to pass in the mountains or in water. Or will have to pay for a longtail boat that will bring from Railey-West to Your Sai (50bath).
Place to stay
1 - Railey Beach: Several resorts exist who offer rooms or bungalows to relatively elevated prices (in between 500bath and more). They generally have a swimming pool.
2 - Ton Sai Beach: Several bungalows resorts exist, a bit more rustic, but cheaper (prices are around 60 and 150bath). You can always negotiate.
P.s.: The prices vary according to the high and the low season. The prices include here are from the beginning September. In high season the prices are put higher, you could pay easily 250 more.
The cliff
1 - Railey Beach and Ton Sai Beach: offer 43 different cliff who offer a level passing from 4 to 8C (USA 5.8 to 5.14b) (Aussie13 to 35). So there where climb for every one. The routes are generally in overhang.
2 - Ko PhiPhi: Some cliffs exist there; they are about 9 of them. They are mainly on Ko PhiPhi Don. You can also go climb to Mayan Bay (Ko PhiPhi Lay). The climbs are alot easier: 4 to 7C (USA 5.8 to 5.12d) (Aussie 13 to 28), but most of them are inbetween 5 and 6. Excellent for beginners and people who didn't climb since a wild.

Chiang Mai
Is the second best climbing spot in Thailand and it is also limestone. You wild find there more then 100 routes of all level, specially in between the range of 5 to 7a. It is a good alternative to the crowded Krabi. You will find different climb style: slab, multi-pitch, overhang. The crag is located at 40 km of Chiang Mai, you will find a possibility of charring a ride from Chiang Mai Rock climbing and also place to stay around the area.
The main crag name is Crazy Horse. You can buy a guide book of the area: Rock Climbing in Northern Thailand. When you go rock climbing there they have only one rule don’t littering and bring all the rubbish back from the cliff even butch. This rule is made for respecting the local community who live in this area.
Around Bangkok
Lopburi Province – Khao Cheen Lair 2
This crag in situate at 180 km north of Bangkok. I think is the main climbing area of Central Thailand. The cliff offer around 30 climb mostly in the range of 5+ to 6C+, but they have place for 100+. They have or the gone a have some new route add. The cliff is 180 meters high, so you will find some multi-pitch there.
Very Important: When you want to get access to the cliff, you will have to pass thru Wat Pa Suwannabong (Temple). The head-monk requests that all the visitor come to say hello before going up. And he ask that no body go climb above the cave, because it is the house of a holy man and that will be very offending and probably close the cliff.
Petchaburi Province – Khao Yoi
This crag is situate at 160km south-west of Bangkok. You will find there around 20 bolted climb, mostly one pitch. Some of the bold are suppose to be pretty rusty but I ear that some route have been rebolted recently. So if you go there, use our common sense. You wild find a big range of climb, from 5+ to 8a.
