Theran - Serou : Mai 20 to June 13, 2007
 Wow!! We got out of the plane and outside; it’s something like 28 degree. It is a big contrast from his neighborhood country (45-53). In Tehran, we have been welcomed by our friend and his wife for more than a week. It was very pleasant because, for the first time in more than 1 year, we were in an environment similar to Canada (Climate, pollution, environment, house, cleanliness). We felt like home! In Tehran, we benefited from this to do a bit of ski and rock climbing.
When we left the capital of Iran, we chose to direct us toward the Caspian Sea, by passing by the mountains. We took two days to reach Chalus.  This marvelous place is the number one place for Iranian villas. Just after, we pass thru the Guilan region, who by they way is number one place for is welcoming. We have been guest several time and thing was often free for us event restaurant (free for tourist!!!) In Anzali, we met really nice people. We did water-ski and the wind surfing. We really enjoy all this activities. We felt than we were doing something different from the bicycle. Contrary to Asia, people are financially more comfortable and they have more time for leisure’s. The Iranians are very nice. People constantly stop us on the side of the road to offer us food or to greet us. It also happens than people offer us money but, we refuse it.
Finally, wearing Hijab (scarf) is obligatory for all women in Iran and they must constantly be dressed in long. After a while, it  can became annoying in such hot country (especially in bicycle) After the revolution, 28 years ago, the new government decided to put in applications several new laws, especially for the women. Example: a woman doesn't have the right to sing professionally. The majority of the population lives in certain modernity and the young pushes the limits more and more. Since several years, the laws been softened. For example: the men have the right to have long hair and women are not obliged anymore to wear the long black coat. The coat became shorter and shorter and they only cover half of their hair with the scarf.
