Cos - Rhodes - Karpathos - Santorini - Athens - Cafelonia - Igoumenista : July 22 to August 9, 2007

We finally passed more time than what we had expected onto theses beautiful Greek islands. Totally, we visited 5 islands in two weeks: Kos, Rodos, Karpathos, Santorini and finally, Cephalonia.

According to our appreciation, the prettiest among then is Karpathos, but it is by far the hardest. The place is quite and overflows with sublime beaches. On the other hand, wind is constant, wish mean; it is very difficult to do camping. We sleep inside construction house, to avoid the strong wind. The place is world knows for windsurfing!

In Karpathos, we met an Italian couple and, I can affirm you that they will be print out into our mind forever. Never debate about spaghetti with true Italian. It is like to speaking about politics!!!

It is here that we also celebrated my birthday, 24 years. We benefited from this, to rent a room for two days and get a lot of fun without thinking much about what we spend. Benoît offered me a very good diner at a restaurant and the following day, we did a small escapade into the island on motobike.

At Kos, we met Daisuke. This Japanese travels with the bicycle for more than 9 years and will be on the road for another 2 years. It was very impressive and stimulating to exchange during these days about our future projects and common adventures.

Santorini was very pretty, but very busy. In the beginning, we lived several difficulties, because we were a bit embarrassed by the presence of the bicycles. The two important cities to visit are Firat and Ioa and are composed mainly of small narrow alleys and stairs. On the other hand, we had luck, and we met a local cyclist who invited us to stay in his home. Really good guy!!! We had good time all together and eat great fish. We were especially very proud that he had into his house, a big Canadian flag on the wall.

Today, we return on the Greek continent and we will head to the Albania border. The bicycles and other thing get very old and into bad condition. My wheel split, Ben's shoes broke, one of my panniers is in very bad condition and our seats have collapse. We are in the hurry to return to Quebec to set up everything, see friend and family.
