Brisbane-Gympie : April 14 to April 23, 2006

Welcome to the country of Skippy!!! Everyone remembers this entire happy kangaroo ready to help his buddy. Finally, there we are to the second stage of our journey, Australia. In this country, the sun even cooked you in winter. At least, there is the beach. Since our arrival, we went to visit the famous Australian Zoo. We could touch some kangaroos and I took in my arms a koala for 15 $(Hsichih). Ha yes, I forgot!!!! For a non organized arrival in Australia, all was fine. We have been welcomed at the house of a local to Red Cliff an just before on the path; we were invited to drink with some peoples because that was Easter. Ha these Australian!!!! They don't know how to drink. They drink beer alchoolized to 2.5%. The strongest beer is to 5.5%. They shouldn’t come to drink in Canada with our famous beer: end of the world. We are also went to visit J-P Faucher and his girlfriend on the Sunshine Coast for several days. We party hard and went to bed late. We benefited from this, to surf a little bit. I am not really good, but I believe that the waves were indeed too gigantic. I am indeed happy, Ben finally liked this experience. There after, we have been welcomed in Gympie by another Australian family. They let us their old car Igor for 2 days, to permit us to visit the corner differently. Indeed........ I like the bicycle better. The car is too expensive and there is not any satisfaction at the end of the line. During this journey, we fed a wild dolphin to Tincan Bay. We also walked on the beach of Rainbow beach. This beach is unique since it counts more 70 grains of sand of different colors. After these two beautifully days, we are back on the road in direction of Agnes Water Beach.

Gympie-Mackay : April 24 to May 16, 2006

After having been in Gympie, we went again to a pretty city, Agnes Water Beach. We spent 2 days there, question to cool off since the sun was very hot on the road. Ben liked this small city. For my part, I found that there is not enough activities to do there. Since the beginning of the journey, I never found my evenings boring like that. It's a good thing the last evening, we met a French couple. There after, we went to Tannum Sand, question to cut the road until Gladstone. We have been welcomed then again by two really cool people, Sarah Christos It is there that we discovered the Australian cuisine, barbecue and full of different meats to the menu and there we learn about Curtis Island. We decided to go there for a while. When we arrive in the island, we take the time to meet the local (city of 80 people) Jenny, a local from there, invited us to stay 4 days with her and his husband at the chalet. All the week, he bring us fishing, snorkeling….The next Sunday, Ronney brought us back in city with his boat. We saved several beautiful dollars then for the ferry. Excited to be going to visit another island, we went to Great Keppel Island. To get there, I did a bit of hitchhiking boating. I made the tour of marina of Yeppon to find someone that left in sea with his boat so, than he could drop us on the island. Result..... A couple of multimillionaire made us the round-trip lift on a catamaran of a value of more than 2 millions of dollars. Finally, we took the road for a big three days of bicycle for Rockhampton to Mackay. We accomplished with brio this 300 km in three days and we lived funny and enriching histories there. In Marlborough, we met another cyclist, Anthony Mann. His traveling couples of days with us. Is objective is to complete all Australia during more of 1 year and half to promote the ecotourist. His web site: www.ozbybike.com On the road, we met two happy buddies and they invited us at their chalet to Claireview Bay. Ha!!!! That was a cool night filled of alcohols and hooo.. How much this evening was strange. We have been invited at homosexuals home and they would have so much love to develop relations with Anthony and Benoît. Cause of my English and the alcool, it seems that I missed a lot of Jokes under the belt. Congratulation boys!!! You did well with all of that. We pass a good night. We are presently in Mackay to a contact of Anthony of warm shower.

Mackay-sydney: May 17 to July 4, 2006

After Mackay, we took contact with a boy and we left 4 days by sailboat. Axel also lives his dream and journey around the world since more than two years. Finally, we hated this experience since we discovered that we had the sea sick. Benoît wasn’t too bad but for me, I wanted to be to die. I was not able even to eat and to go to the toilet in the bathroom. He had to even put me a harness to make me to go to the toilet over board. I couldn’t go in the toilet inside. The third day, I took a pill to make me sleep. After, we visited Magnetic Island and went to Townsville. We also have been in a trip to the Great Barrier Reef. It is simply magic. You swim through the freeways of corals and different unimaginable fish and the water is completely clear and pure. I had luck to swim with sharks. It is also during this evening that I and Ben made a food poisoning to the pizza Hut. We were all night sick in the tent .Than after a while in the same night, Ben been bite by a spider. At this time, we let every there and we left as fast is possible to the urgency at 3:00 a.m. After that, we cycle to Cape Tribulation. We took an organized tour and we remained in a pretty house in the jungle. There, we also climbed a mountain (Mount Sorrow) with two French-Canadian from Montreal. From the top of the mountain, owe were able to see the Great Barrier Reef. Couples of days after, we took the plane to return to Brisbane. The stupid companies charge us 170 $ extra for our luggage. Advice: is worth to pay a bit more for good airline companies than try to save money on a shit ticket and get surprise at the end just before left. One the way to Sydney, we meet a lot of extraordinary peoples. Finally, we never had been able to climb in the Blues Mountain close of Sydney. All the routes are in traditional. Also, we changed our ticket of plane of July 14 for July 4. One was bored of the cold weather and the monotony of the landscapes. We were hurry to see Asia and to sweat.
